(en référence au drapeau du Pays de Galles dont nous sommes originaires)
Notre maison se trouve dans le petit village de Miers à 10 kms de Gramat, 8 kms de Rocamadour et 4 kms du Gouffre de Padirac (à coté duquel vous trouverez un centre aquatique).
Miers est un village typique du Lot avec ses commerces de première nécessité : une boulangerie, une épicerie, un bar-tabac, un restaurant et une agence postale.
Nous sommes situés en face de la place du village qui offre de nombreuses places de parking.
Pendant le mois d’août, les repas en table d’hôte est obligatoire. Pour la reste de l’année, le bar-restaurant du «Lion d'or» peut vous offrir un excellent repas régional pour un prix très raisonnable.
Au centre d’une région dédiée au tourisme, vous pourrez vous détendre, visiter des sites renommés ou simplement pratiquer des activités de plein air (randonnées à pieds, à VTT ou à cheval, ballade en canoës sur le Lot ou la Dordogne, etc). Le célèbre site de Rocamadour vous fera découvrir une cité construite à flan de falaise avec, entre autre, une Cathédrale du 13eme Siècle qui abrite la «Vierge noire». A Padirac, son gouffre de 33 m de diamètre et 75 m de profondeur, dissimule l'entrée d'un magnifique réseau souterrain que vous allez parcourir en barque et à pied. Dans un rayon de quelques dizaines de kilomètres, vous pourrez découvrir d'autres lieux réputés : Collonges la Rouge, Saint-Cirq Lapopie, Conques, Figeac, Cahors et bien d'autres encore.
Nous avons un local gratuit pour ranger vos vélos en toute sécurité.
Nous avons cinq chambres : deux chambres pour 4 personnes, deux chambres pour trois personnes et une chambre pour deux personnes. Toutes sont équipées de salle de bains indépendantes (douche, lavabo et wc).
Pour les chambres de 4 personnes, nous pouvons vous prêter un lit pour bébé si nécessaire.
Nous vous proposons une nouveauté pour 2009 : une « suite » capable d’accueillir six personnes, comprenant deux chambres séparées avec porte communicante et une salle de bains.
Cette offre est réservée aux familles avec enfants.

Au rez de chaussée, le grand salon, réservé à nos invités, offre une vue reposante sur la place du village.
La terrasse qui le prolonge permet de gouter simplement au plaisir de profiter du soleil en discutant autour d'une boisson fraiche. Tous les Vendredis soir, en Juillet et Aout, un «marché de pays» s'installe sur la place du village et vous propose une large gamme de produits régionaux.
Comment nous trouver? Nous sommes à env. 25 minutes des plus proches sorties de l'autoroute A20 (Paris-Toulouse). Prendre la sortie 54 en venant du Nord et sortie 56 en venant du Sud.
Les aéroports les plus proches sont Toulouse, Rodez, Brive ou Bergerac.
Dans la limite du raisonnable, Carol & Peter peuvent adapter leurs prestations à des besoins spécifiques (régimes alimentaires spéciaux, couchages, etc).

Le Petit Dragon Rouge
(Named after the emblem on the Welsh flag)
We are situated in the quiet pretty village of Miers only 10km from Gramat, 8Km from Rocamadour and 4km from the Gouffre de Padirac.
Built on the foundations of a castle and using reclaimed castle stone the Chambres d'Hôtes is the oldest building in the village and sits on the village square with plenty of parking.
We are a stones throw from the village pub/restaurant who offer an excellent evening meal at an excellent price.
Located in the middle of a region dedicated to tourism there is much to see and do in the area. At Rocamadour a 13th century cathedral is built into the cliff face and there is a breathtaking cave system at Padirac including an underground lake on which you can take a boat ride.
While for the more adventurous there is a variety of sporting activities available locally including kayaking, orienteering and potholing.
Mountain bikes can be hired in the area.
There is a secure area for cycles, should you bring your own.
We have five well appointed rooms, two quad, two triple and one twin/double room all with WC Shower and hand basin.
Each of the quad rooms has the capacity for an additional fifth place for a child or infant. We also have a cot available for small children.
For 2009 we are opening a new family room that will accomodate 6 people in a suite with two bedrooms.
This room will be reserved for use by families with children only.

There is a large guest lounge looking out onto the village square
leading on to the front terrace, an ideal place, for whiling away those lazy summer afternoons watching the world go by and taking in the atmosphere of the local produce market held every Friday evening in July and August.
Le Petit Dragon Rouge
is children friendly welcoming families of all ages and size.
How to find us - We are about twenty minutes drive off the main Paris to Toulouse motorway, the A20 (J54 from the North, J56 from the South), just below the rugby stronghold of Brive in the Lot region.
The nearest airports are Toulouse, Rodez, Limoges & Bergerac.
Finally .... Carol and Peter pride themselves on being able to cater for almost any reasonable request.

'Chez Gwyn'
In the hamlet of Cantemeule A 'cosy cottage' holiday gite, sleeping 2 to 4 persons, situated in a 5 house, hilltop hamlet above the village of Miers. It has beautiful views across to Rocamadour, only 10 km away. The gite's accommodation comprises a double bedroom, two single beds on the second floor, living room, fireplace and exposed beams. Bathroom facilities include a large shower. A small well-equipped kitchen leads onto the terrace, designed for comfortable outdoor living... an essential feature of summer holiday accommodation in this part of France. A BBQ and large grounds with views in three directions make this gite ideal for exploring this beautiful region of South West France. |

This comfortable gite, situated in its own ground 5 minutes walk from
the centre of the little village of Miers, is ideally placed for holidaying in the national park of the Causse de Grammat. For lovers of the countryside there are many designated walks locally full of interest and charm to suit walkers of all abilities; some starting close to the house. Alternatively those who wish to explore by car and visit the many features of the area will find that these too are not so far from the doorstep. The unique cliff-face town of Rocamadour; the deep underground caverns and river of Gouffre de Padirac; the mediaeval towns of Martel, St Cere, Bretenoux and Beaulieu; the impressive scenery of the Dordogne valley; all close at hand. Plus of course innumerable charming villages all with their individual attractions of chateau, market, or special vista. There are also attractions that will appeal to the young. For example there is the safari park zoo at Parc Animalier, the Prehistoric Park, the Forest of the Apes, the Flight of Eagles at Rocamadour, the test of physical skill and agility on the woodland trail at Parc Malawi, and of course canoeing on the river Dordogne. The house sleeps 4 comfortably. There is a fully equipped kitchen/ dining room on the first floor and a sitting area with television on the second floor. From the kitchen there are stairs down to the cave with access to the garden. At the rear of the house there is a patio where long lunches can be enjoyed in the shade of a large lime tree. The garden is large and offers plenty of room for children to run around or dogs to bury bones Miers, which is not a large village, contains a Boulangarie, a Bar- Tabac and a well patronised Restaurant. There is also a small Post- Office in the Mairie. Most other day to day things can be obtained in Alvignac, 5k away, where there is a range of facilities including a Pharmacy, a Newsagent, a Garage, Shops selling bread, groceries, meat etc. and a number of Hotels and Restaurants. Everything else you may need you can find in Grammat, 12k. away which, amongst other things boasts 3 major Supermarkets and a very superior Wine shop. |

is a comfortable two person "studio style" apartment newly renovated for the 2009 season.
It consists of a combined living & sleeping area, bathroom and kitchen.
The bathroom is a good size with toilet, shower and wash hand basin.
The kitchen area consists of a cooking area and a breakfast bar style eating area. It has a microwave cooker, kettle and an induction hob along with all the usual kitchen utensils.
The living & sleeping area has a double bed (1.4 x 2 M), wardrobes, draws etc. along with a couch and coffee table.

The apartment is located within the buildings of Le Petit Dragon Rouge and has its own private entrance leading onto the front terrace.
Evening meals are available during this time at the cost of 15.00€ per person per night. Evening meals must be pre-ordered in the morning.
Access to the large guest lounge is included as part of the rental
WIFI is freely available along with use of the internet station in the main guest lounge.
La Jonquille is designed for two people however a small child could be accommodated on a put up bed.

L’accès au grand salon est compris dans le loyer ou vous avez également accès gratuitement au Wifi.
La Jonquille est désigné pour 2 personnes, mais il y’a de possibilité pour un lit pliant pour un enfant.

Offers you the chance to hire the "Grand Salon" for your parties, big or small we do them all.
For your special occasion we can offer a cold buffet or even one of our special BBQ's famed in the village for their real coal fire.
We do not have a licence to sell alcohol but you are free to bring your own.
We have a fridge and freezer available for your use for storage of booze and food.
